Split the bill

Everyone pays their share without a calculator

The table wants to pay separately? Split by items or equally, each share paid in cash or by card, and the cashier works nothing out by hand.

Why splitting the bill holds up a table

Four friends want to pay their own share, and the cashier works it out on a phone: who had what, and how much of the discount and the VAT is theirs. One pays cash, another by card, the halalas never add up, and the next table stands waiting. Open a second bill by mistake and items get lost between the two.

In Loqma, splitting is one clear screen: pick the items and see both bills before you confirm, or split equally and let the system work out each share to the halala, with every payment counted against the share.

How it works in Loqma

  • Split by items

Pick the items that move to a new bill and see, side by side, what stays on #12 and the new bill, each with its total and the VAT inside it. The new bill stays on the same table.

  • Split equally

On the payment screen press ÷2, ÷3 or ÷4 and the guest's share becomes the amount due: cash works out change against the share, a card cannot exceed it, and the screen counts "Share 2 of 3" until the last guest pays the balance.

  • To the halala, with nothing left over

10.00 three ways comes to 3.34, 3.33 and 3.33, so the bill closes exactly, instead of 9.99 and a halala left hanging that nobody can see.

  • More than one payment method

One bill can be paid part cash, part card and part from the guest's wallet, each amount recorded against its method, so the reports and the shift report know how much came in each way.

  • Merge two bills

Pick the bill to merge into, and before you confirm the screen says "Closes #7 and moves its items to #12", with the two bills' combined total. Identical items join into one line.

  • Move a table

Guests moved? Pick the new table from the free ones grouped by section; a table with fewer seats than guests shows a warning, and the order moves in one tap.

The details that keep the bill right

  • A split keeps the price the guest was quoted: a percentage discount travels with the items in proportion
  • A table only becomes free once all its bills are paid, not just the first
  • A split bill stays on the same shift, so the Z report counts it correctly
  • A bill that took a payment cannot be split or merged, and shows dimmed with the reason rather than disappearing
  • With QR table ordering, each guest orders and pays their own bill from their phone
  • A guest holding the link of a merged bill is taken to the bill it was merged into
  • Order reports show how much came in on each payment method, not just the method names
  • On a tablet the two bills sit side by side; on a phone, as two clear totals

Splitting, merging and moving tables are in every plan. Ordering and paying from a table's QR code is in the Pro plan. Pricing

Common questions

Yes. On the payment screen choose ÷2, ÷3 or ÷4, each guest pays their share in cash or by card, and the screen shows which share you are on until the last one.

Split by items: pick each guest's items and they move to a new bill on the same table, each paid on its own. You see both totals before you confirm.

An item moves whole when splitting by items. If an item is shared between two guests, splitting the amount equally is the simpler way.

Because splitting after a payment would leave the payment on one bill and the items on another. Refund the payment first and then split, or finish paying the rest in equal shares.

From the order page press "Merge" and pick the bill to merge into. The screen tells you which bill will close and where its items go, and after you confirm it is one bill.

Yes, with QR table ordering: each guest orders from their phone, gets their own bill, and pays it themselves.
